Artist Statement
Over the years I've had paintings in many local, regional and
national shows...including Am. Artist, National Watercolors, the Butler Museum,
the Hoyt in New Castle, John Young Show, invitationals at Youngstown State and
many state and national watercolor only shows & watercolor organizations. I'm a
member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, Midwest WCS...and formerly belong to the
Pittsburgh, Kentucky and Georgia WC Societies.
I have a very straight-forward approach to art, specifically
visual art. I believe that a painting, sculpture, etc. should be self-explanatory,
it should be able to convey whatever message, image, mood or feeling you are
trying to express. If the viewing public does not understand it, and/or you have
to constantly explain it to everyone, most often it is not the lack of
appreciation on the part of the public that is at fault, it is the artist that
has failed.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and read a
little about me.
