Artist Statement and Exhibition Concept
I started painting in 1994 after running into my high school art
teacher. To my surprise he remembered me and was very disappointed that I had
not pursued my art. He was my inspiration
for beginning my career, however it is my love of creativity that is my
motivation.
I wanted to develop my skills as an artist, so in 1998 I
enrolled in Kent State University as a Fine Arts Major. From my college
experience thus far, I have grown not only as an artist but also as a person.
Over the past two years, I have received personal gratification in
others appreciation of my work. My exhibition concept is a variety,
consisting of watercolors, pastels, inks, acrylics and graphite. I have used
many different subjects and styles to express emotions,, personality and myself.
Most of the paintings I am exhibiting are reflections of my day-to-day life with
friends and family.
